Fay Alexander has a B.A. in English from Ursinus College and an M.A. in English from the University of Florida. She first became interested in the pilgrim saga in 1984 when, as an English teacher at Living Faith Fellowship School, she visited the New Testament Christian School at Cedarville to observe its curriculum. A year later she made the first of three trips to England to research the migration of English colonists to America. Fay’s story, “The Fossil,” was published by Prairie Schooner and chosen by its editors as best story of that year. She has received first-place prizes for two novels: Under Every Green Tree (2001) and One Small Candle (2004; now published as One Candle’s Light) from the Blue Ridge Mountain Christian Writers Conference.
