As an artist growing up in a sports-minded family, John Turney expressed himself through writing, art and music. He wrote during his high school and college years. Upon earning his Bachelors in Fine Arts, he entered screaming and kicking into the real world. He had to find the means to support his habit: reading. About ten years ago, he began to write seriously. A number of articles and devotions appeared in eZines. Two things have intrigued him for years: the world of the Celts and Halloween. “When we as Christians remove ourselves—and thus the influence of the Holy Spirit—from any area of our culture such as Halloween, our enemy moves in with a vengeance. We need to be more pro-active and less retreat-oriented. Even in small ways.” John currently lives in the Cincinnati area with his wife and two dogs.
